Almost every product has a household name to back it.
When it comes to soft drinks, there’s Coca-Cola, for fast-food, McDonald’s, and the smartphone market has Apple.
Each of these big-brands set the standard for their respective industry and remain at the top in comparison to their competitors.
Bitcoin is no different.
It’s essentially led the cryptocurrency charge ever since its launch back in 2009 and doesn’t appear to be switching roles anytime soon.
But what exactly is it that makes these brands outshine the rest?
Here’s what turned Bitcoin into the icon it is today and why altcoins don’t stand a chance.
According to Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter, “no cryptocurrency will ever beat Bitcoin”.
It’s the digital coin that kicked-off the crypto craze to begin with. The technology itself was both born and raised on the internet, so as long as the world wide web is up and running, Bitcoin will carry on.
Many experts actually expect that it will become the native currency of the internet sometime in the near future!
Sure, there are hundreds of other up-and-coming tokens out there that are each trying their best to claim the throne and title of King of Crypto, but none of them come close to touching Bitcoin.
Even as more and more interesting ideas emerge from competing altcoins in the crypto space, they can all eventually be integrated into the Bitcoin platform.
Because it’s the one currency that started it all, Bitcoin has now become recognized as a mainstream, well-known, household concept.
Other tokens simply can’t keep up with the name brand that Bitcoin has established for itself, hints why it’s never lost its #1 spot in the ranks.
It’s certainly true that Bitcoin is the household name when it comes to crypto, just like Coca-Cola is the household name when it comes to soft drinks.
Although it may not be the most profitable in terms of investing right now, that doesn’t mean Bitcoin is on its way out.
Bitcoin is slowly but surely becoming integrated into the ebb and flow of our everyday lives, but it will still take some time for the technology to fully catch on.
In the meantime, feel free to take advantage of the other coins in the market that are pushing to make a name for themselves, but just know that Bitcoin is here to stay.
