Right now, I’m going to make sure you know at least the first two steps that should be taken every time you begin thinking about an investment.
The very first step is one that I often mention anytime I can, and that is taking the time to study the overall stock market.
This is the most vital stage in the entire stock-picking process, and one that cannot be overstated.
Before you even look at individual stocks, you MUST begin by checking the mood of the market. Stocks often follow along behind the market, like a mother and her ducklings.
If the market is healthy, most stocks will be too. And if the market is unhealthy, stocks will have a lesser chance of becoming climbing trades at that time.
The second step is focusing in on the strongest section of the overall market.
This is simply the second door that should be unlocked before any trade has a good chance of becoming profitable for you.
This means finding the healthiest sectors within the stock market.
The technology sector may be the strongest for one period of time before the services sector climbs up above it and is the top section of the market for some time.
The point is that sector strengths change, and a strong sector often means strong stocks.
